Originally from New Caledonia, Kiran graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2010 with a BSc in Environmental Science (Ecology) before pursuing an MRes in Computational Biology at the University of York where her research focussed primarily on modelling the effects of disturbances and stochastic processes on population dynamics. Kiran completed her PhD in mid 2016, where she worked to identify and model potential causes of declines in wader numbers along the East Asian – Australasian flyway for optimum monitoring and management.
