Jodi is a plant ecologist broadly interested in community assembly and species coexistence. Her PhD research (completed in 2008) focused on species coexistence and vegetation change in species rich woodlands in south eastern Australia. She then completed a post doc examining the effects of different disturbances on competition and dominance of an invasive wetland weed in semi-arid wetlands. Most recently, Jodi was based in Estonia where she looked for global scale patterns in plant community assembly of temperate grasslands including sites in Australia and Estonia. Jodi will use modern species coexistence theory and new methods to better understand community assembly processes in restoration ecology.
